Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) Vice-Chairperson and Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has stated that human development is as important as infrastructure development of the village, as it focuses on improving the well-being of individuals.
He was speaking at Alto Pilerne after laying the foundation stone for the Futsal ground in the presence of Zilla Panchayat member Sandeep Bandodkar, Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Reshma Bandodkar, Dy Sarpanch Ajay Govekar, North Goa ZP President Shanker Chodankar, North Goa ZP CO Ajay Gaude, Chairman of Pilerne Village Development Committee Karan Govekar and the panch members.
“Human development contributes to socio-economic progress and it is for this reason that I have been focussing on development of recreational facilities such as the Futsal ground, badminton court, e-library, etc. in my constituency,” said Naik.
“The popularity of the Futsal ground continues to grow and a one-of-its-kind Futsal ground is being developed at Alto Pilerne at a cost of Rs 30 lakh through the ZP fund. Commenting on the pathetic condition of the road from the Saligao circle to Pilerne Industrial Estate, Naik said he has initiated steps to concretise the road and lay pavers as a temporary measure and added that the road would be hotmixed after the monsoon.
“I have also received complaints about the traffic jam near Ardee School at Sangolda. I have taken up the issue with the deputy collector who will take necessary steps in this regard,” said Naik.
