Pestered for a bribe by a Town and Country Planning (TCP) department babu?
TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane wants you to record such incriminating conversations to punish corrupt officials in his departments which include the TCP, Health and Forest departments, for which a special phone number will be issued soon according to him.
"Nobody (should) take bribes and nothing will be entertained in any of my departments. Go all out no problem. You can use your phones, you can use whatever mechanism you want if you feel somebody is trying to exploit you and expose such people. This is the need of the hour," Vishwajit said in a video message on Saturday.
"I am going to share a phone number where you can complain about corruption. Record (the) voices of people and share it on social media. There will be fear for everybody. Whether it is a person from public life or he is a person on any other front," he said.
"If he tries to take a bribe, then you should make sure that you trap such people and expose them to the public. I will be very strict," Vishwajit added.
More often than not, the TCP Ministry and its officials have been under the spotlight over the illegal conversion of land parcels and various irregularities, including corruption for pushing files.
Vishwajit said that he would be releasing a phone number as well as an email address, where people could upload information related to corruption in his departments.
"I appeal to all the people. If anybody asks for a bribe in any of my departments please make sure that you bring it to my knowledge and I will ensure that I will act on it. Nobody should take bribes and nothing will be entertained in any of my departments," he said, adding that such videos or audio files with adequate proof would be uploaded to social media.
He appealed to people to lodge their complains with authentic facts and with a phone number, so that his team can monitor such complaints.
“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants a people-friendly government with a transparent system. That is how we can progress in the country. If any of my department officers demands a bribe, bring it to my knowledge and I will make it sure that action is taken,” said Rane.
“I will be transparent and strict as far as TCP is concerned,” he added.
