Huts with firewood reduced to ashes
CANACONA: Three firewood storage huts at Shristhal-Canacona went up in flames on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, the residents at Vaizawada were working in their paddy fields, when someone raised an alarm about the fire. All the people rushed to their locality only to find three huts on fire. The Fire and Emergency Services were called to help douse the fire while the locals made attempts to put out the fire.
It was informed that the residents were successful in dousing the fire, before the fire brigade could reach the site.
“However, arrival of fire personnel helped us to totally extinguish the fire in the locality,” informed Ganesh Gaonkar.
Fire Services sources informed that Ganesh, Sonu and Bhaikar Velip, suffered damages of more than Rs 15,000 as their firewood was reduced to ashes.
