Saying the BJP government in Goa is trying to impose the destructive agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Goans, South Goa Congress MP Francisco Sardinha has said the BJP government has no right to acquire private land for IIT when barren land is available with government.
He was speaking at a meeting of Congress workers in Sanguem. Senior Vice President M K Shaikh, Congress functionaries Gautam Bhandari, Josephine Rodrigues, Agostinho Fernandes, Juisinho Fernandes and other Congress workers were present for the meeting which focussed on strengthening Congress in Sanguem.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s days are numbered now. Congress-led INDIA alliance will form the government in 2024. We will scarp all anti-Goa, anti-environment projects initiated by BJP government,” Sardinha said.
Senior Congress leader M K Sheikh said Congress workers in Sanguem should start canvassing for Lok Sabha elections, saying it is important that Congress retains South Goa and wins North Goa in 2024.
All the Congress workers present for the meeting promised to start grassroot level work and win confidence of electorate of Sanguem, Sheikh told the media.
