MARGAO
Margao Town Planner R M Borkar has requested the Paroda panchayat to caution members of the public not to buy illegal and unauthorized plots in the village since the properties in question are earmarked as cultivable land zone in Regional Plan 2001 and Regional Plan 2021.
The letter sent to the Paroda Sarpanch by the Town Planner assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of an uproar at the Paroda gram sabha a week ago wherein members had demanded action in what they called termed as illegal development of plots on agricultural land.
After the TCP had received a complaint stating that some unknown persons are illegally developing plots in an agricultural property, TCP officials had carried out an inspection of the land in question only to find cemented boundary stones fixed in the properties. However, the inspection team did not come across any physical development in the property such as construction of roads and drains.
As a matter of abundant caution, Town Planner Borkar has now requested the Panchayat to inform the TCP Office about the exact ownership of the property and also inform whether any permission has been issued by the VP for any development to the owner concerned.
