IMA-Goa reaches out to 4,200 Covid patients through teleconsultation

Goa State unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has successfully completed one-month of teleconsultation and support to over 4,200 Covid-19 patients under home isolation.

Conceptualized by the working committee of IMA Goa under the leadership of State President Dr Samuel Arawattigi on a PPE model with Government of Goa, the ongoing project has benefitted more than 4,200 patients so far through 150-member doctors of IMA-Goa from Mormugao, Margao, Bardez, Bicholim,  Tiswadi, Curchorem, Quepem, Sanguem (CQS) and  Ponda  branches.

Out of these 4,200 patients, around 38 patients were shifted to nearby Covid Care Centre (CCC), four patients had to be shifted to ESI Covid Hospital and six patients were shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital for medical care.

IMA-Goa has also provide paid CCC at Oceanic  Residency in Colva where 43 patients have been admitted so far, out of whom three had to be shifted to different CCCs and hospitals for advanced medical care. At another paid CCC set up at Oceanic Wellness in Sangolda, 58 patients have been taken care of by IMA-Goa. Only one patient has been admitted at the third paid CCC set up at Planet Hollywood, Utorda.

A medical kit comprising of tools like pulse-oximeter, thermometer, medicines, disinfectants, gloves and mask were made available at nominal price as part of the exercise.
