Saying that the ruling BJP has failed to honour its word to nominate him as a candidate for Cuncolim constituency, social worker Santosh Faldesai on Wednesday opened his election office in Cuncolim, with a promise to provide jobs to the unemployed youth and to stop pollution at the Cuncolim Industrial estate.
Faldessai’s election office was inaugurated at the hands of retired Superintendent of Police Tony Fernandes, Shaba Desai and others on Wednesday.
Addressing his supporters and well wishers, Faldesai said he had helped the BJP to win the Guirdolim Zilla panchayat seat in the last election, but charged the party for its failure to honour the promise to nominate him for the Cuncolim Assembly constituency as the party candidate.
Saying that hot mixing of roads will not fetch votes for the candidates, Faldesai said the youth are looking for jobs, adding that he would try to get pollution free industries at the Cuncolim Industrial estate to solve the unemployment issue.
