The Porvorim Congress Block Committee has strongly objected to the candidature of Vikas Prabhudessai for Porvorim constituency and has decided not to campaign for him.
Addressing media persons in Porvorim, Block Congress President Mario Athaide said the Congress selection committee selected the wrong candidate for Porvorim constituency.

“His chances of winning the election are very remote and he may even lose his deposit. The block committee members are disappointed and will not campaign for Prabhudessai,” said Athaide.
Athaide recalled that at a meeting convened on December 10, 2021, six candidates had hurriedly filled applications, expressing their desire to contest the election.
“Prabhudessai was not present for this meeting and his well-wisher had filled the form on his behalf. When objections were raised by other members, a GPCC leader overruled them.”
“The candidature of Prabhudessai is not acceptable to us at all. The selection committee should immediately withdraw his candidature within the next 2 days and announce another nominee from the six other candidates, failing which we will not participate in election campaign of Prabhudessai,” warned Athaide.
Mahila Block President Farida Bandekar, Babani Chodankar and Anil Pednekar also expressed similar views.
