Industries dept clarifies its RTI reply

In the clarification, the directorate said, "It is clarified that the records of industries in Goa employing 80% or more than 80%
Goan employees, available with this Directorate are of beneficiaries who have availed the benefits under the Goa State Employment Subsidy Scheme."
The directorate continued, "The benefits of the scheme can only be availed by those industries that employ a minimum 80% of Goans."
"Hence, the list of industries who have availed the benefits of the scheme and employ at least 80 per cent Goans as per the records of this Directorate was furnished to you."
"Such records pertaining to other industries who employ at least 80% Goans are not available with this Directorate", the clarification further said.
The Goan Everyday had filed a RTI query with the directorate asking, "How many industries are there in Goa, which have 80% or more than 80% of their employees as Goans?"
The directorate had then replied, "There are 40 industries in Goa, which have 80% or more than 80% of their employees as Goans."
