The Goan: In one sentence, why should people vote for you?
Kedar Naik: People will vote for me because I have worked at the grass roots level successfully and understand the problems of the common people.
TG: If you are part of the government, which is the first legislation you would like to pass in the Assembly?
KN: I would like to solve the long-pending issue of taxi owners and also make it mandatory for industries to employ maximum Goan youth in the industrial and private sector.
TG: Which is that one leader outside your party that you admire as a politician, and why?
KN: Undoubedtly, late Bhausaheb Bandodkar, for the reason that he was a good administrator and visionary.
TG: Who would be your chief ministerial choice, should your party come into power?
KN: Of course, Digamber Kamat, because he is senior leader of the Congress and quite experienced.
TG: Do you justify a merger by 2/3rd or do you consider it as a move against the mandate of the people? Explain.
KN: No, not at all. I feel when people have given you the mandate because you belong to a particular political party, you should continue to be in the same party and complete the 5-year term. Otherwise, you are cheating and disrespecting your voters.
TG: Do you feel that the 2022 election will throw a clear winner? Who are your top three finishers along with seats they are likely to win.
KN: Yes, Congress will be the clear winner with 25 seats, followed by BJP (9 seats), MGP (3 seats), Goa Forward (2 seats) and Others (1 seat).
