The Goan: In one sentence, why should people vote for you?
Sandeep Vazarkar: Today Porvorim needs a non-corrupt, dedicated person who is one amongst them, someone who prioritises welfare of the people and keeps selfish interests at bay.
TG: If you are part of the government, which is the first legislation you would like to pass in the assembly?
SV: If I become part of the government, I would like to pass legislation which is similar to TMC’s Griha Laxmi scheme wherein one woman in every household is empowered with a universal income support of Rs 5000 per month.
TG: Which is that one leader outside your party that you admire as a politician and why?
SV: I have a lot of respect for Manohar Parrikar. I feel that he was one of the few people who could raise Goa specific issues in Delhi.
TG: Who would be your CM's choice, should your party come into power?
SV: The selection of the Chief Minister should be a decision taken by the party. I will stand by whatever decision is taken. Afterall, my passion is my commitment to my people.
TG: Do you justify a merger by 2/3rd or do you consider it as a move against the mandate of people? Explain.
SV: In case if the merger is done keeping in mind the betterment of the people, then a merger is acceptable. However, it should be done after taking people into confidence.
TG: Do you feel the 2022 election will throw a clear winner? Who are your top three finishers along with seats they are likely to win?
SV: It is too early for me to comment but given the overwhelming support that the TMC has on ground, I would just like to say that no government can be formed without TMC-MGP alliance.
