Inter-faith harmony progPANAJI: Pilar Fathers based at Sanvordem celebrated ‘TAAL - A Step towards Harmony,’ the 4th Inter-faith harmony event on January 29, at Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management auditorium, Curchorem, in collaboration with the Solidarity Forum of All India Mission Seminary, Pilar.
The theme was ‘Let’s Unite for a Better Tomorrow’ and the dialogue was based on ‘The Golden Rule’ “ “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Local Superior Fr Joaquim Rebello welcomed while Fr Glen D’Silva with his group performed ‘Raag Jait Kalyan.’
Jayesh Raut, representing Hindus said that God is present everywhere and the entire world is a family. Altaf Shah, representing Muslims stressed on two points - We must know about the other religions so that we learn to respect the people of other faiths and that we need to fight against the evils that are affecting the society. Fr Jesuino Almeida representing Catholics said all religious people must come together and give holistic quality education to our children.
The programme was preceded by a prayer dance performed by the children of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Sanguem.
The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as also observed during the programme.
