PORVORIM
A number of internal roads in Porvorim constituency are in bad shape and with hotmixing expected only in November, residents and motorists will have to struggle with the deteriorating roads in October.
According to locals, several potholes have developed on the roads near Hanuman temple and at Betim, Britona, Salai, Paithona and Socorro.
When contacted, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said the State government’s failure to ensure pre-monsoon works of the roads is the main cause of the bad condition of roads in the State.
“Most roads in Porvorim constituency have been tendered and hotmixing will begin from November. As a result, residents in Porvorim constituency will have to struggle for over a month,” said Khaunte.
“The State government is busy presently offering doles such as free water, etc. to the people. In fact, people desire better services like uninterrupted power, proper sewage system, adequate water supply and better roads, instead of empty promises,” said Khaunte.
