PANAJI
The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has issued a stop work order cum show cause notice for the community market project being constructed at Ribandar under the Smart City Mission.
The NGPDA has directed the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) to stop the work immediately and show cause within seven days from the receipt of the notice as to why action under Section 52 of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act, 1974, shall not be initiated for demolition of the “illegal development”.
NGPDA member secretary Vertika Dagur in a notice has pointed out that during a joint site inspection, undertaken following directions from the High Court, it was noted that the construction work of the building was being carried out by violating or deviating from the plan approved by the NGPDA on December 12, 2022. The NGPDA had accorded permission for the construction of the Ribandar Community Market under the Smart City Mission last year.
