CANACONA
Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes continues to reach out to the people to drum up support to Poinguinim BJP candidate for the Zilla Panchayat elections.
Fernandes held a well-attended corner meeting late Saturday night at his residence, which was attended by the BJP workers as well as erstwhile Congress workers.
Interestingly, residents in the home village of Canacona MLA at Loliem seems to have accepted Fernandes’ switch over from Congress to the saffron brigade given the large presence of his workers who fought the last assembly polls as Congress workers.
Incidentally, one of the prominent BJP stalwarts of BJP who has been a die-hard political critic of Fernandes, Canacona BJP spokesperson and ex-Loliem-Polem sarpanch Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, was prominently present at the Saturday night meeting and gave his suggestions to provide a lead to party candidate Shobhana Velip in Poinguinim Zilla constituency.
Also present and who spoke at the corner meet was Canacona BJP Block President Mahesh Naik and others. Some panch members and Poinguinim constituency BJP local leaders were also present.
