PONDA
It may be recalled that the huts of Makadmares situated on Comunidade land were demolished by locals on Sunday. Ponda Police booked 15 persons in this connection.
Speaking on the sideline of a programme at Ponda, Naik told media persons that the issue was being politicized by a few people from Dabal. “These persons from Dabal want to malign the image of panchas close to me. If they really have sympathy for Makadmares, then they should take them to their village,” Naik said. According to Naik, the Makadmares have become a problem for the villagers and hence they want them to leave the place. “The day this incident happened all panchas were with me at a programme, but their names are unnecessarily dragged into the issue,” he said.
“People had several times raised their voice against the Makadmares, but they still managed to get ration cards and Aadhar cards,” he said. When asked whether it was his government’s mistake to issue them ration cards, the minister said the Civil Supplies Department issued it.
