IT Secretary Ameya Abhyankar said, “We have chosen certain departments to make their entire service delivery online from end-to-end. To get the services of these departments, people will apply online and service will also be delivered online.”
This concerns improving ease of doing business in the state, and it is a part of ‘Business Reforms Action Plan. When businesses approach government departments, service delivery has to be efficient or else Goa’s ranking on ease of doing business may slip.
But, this is not all, as Abhyankar continued, “The state government is also looking at citizen services. We are going to launch 12 citizen service centres. These centres will be at mamlatdar’s and collector’s office. At these centres, ten services under Goa online portal will be available.”
A person will be appointed at such centres, who will help people in filling forms. A check-list of documents will also be provided. Abhyankar said that this system will ensure that the govt office processing applications doesn’t have public interaction.
