Italian arrested with drugs

PANAJI: Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Goa Police in the wee hours of Thursday arrested one 56-year-old Italian national, Rainone Vincenzo at Peddem, Anjuna for being in illegal possession of suspected liquid LSD, MDMA and ganja approximately worth Rs 5 lakh in the international market.

Vincenzo, who is residing at Peddem, has been booked under the relevant Sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

ANC team led by PSI Manjunath Naik conducted the raid between midnight and 4 am on Thursday and arrested Vincenzo with 40.3 gms of suspected MDMA, 4 gms of liquid LSD and 10.65 gms of suspected ganja.

Further investigation is in progress.
