Jagruth Canconkars have called for a public meeting of residents of Canacona taluka on Saturday evening to discuss issues pertaining to the administration in Canacona.
The Jagrut Canaconkars said that the meeting has been convened at the municipal garden, Chaudi at 5pm, to discuss the deteriorating conditions and government’s failure to provide a healthy administration.
Following public outcry over the Canacona administration’s failure to provide efficient services, the Jagruth Canconkars listed some issues to be discussed at the meeting, which include alleged harassment to general public due to increasing number of pending cases at the Canacona Dy Collector and Canacona Municipal Council (CMC), public inconveniences due to unavailability of a chief officer at the CMC and hassles in licensing process of seasonal beach shacks and getting electrical connections to beach shacks have also been also listed for discussion on Saturday.
Jagruth Canconkars appealed to all Canacona residents, irrespective of their personal and political differences, to come together for a better Canacona.
In recent months, there have been widespread allegations that the administration in Canacona taluka has come to a standstill, amid complaints that the incumbent CMC chief officer is hardly available to the public and that there has been virtually no execution of the desired works.
