Minanath Mohan Jalmi of Kudne village has won the annual Agriculture Entrepreneur Award of the Union Agriculture Ministry.
He will be conferred the award on January 12 by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
Notably, this is the first time a Goan has won the award. Jalmi, who is the Chairman of Goa Rural Agricultural Society, is known for his tireless efforts in the agricultural field. Jalmi has been working hard to attract youth to the farming sector.
The society guides farmers on various topics related to agriculture along with providing solutions to their problems. It also guides farmers to optimise the space to enhance their income.
Jalmi is also the Director of Gomanchal Dairy in Kudne. He has initiated a goat rearing business in the dairy’s premises.
Jalmi thanked authorities for their support in helping him win the award. CM Pramod Sawant congratulated Jalmi on winning the award.
