The Government has declared Sunday, January 5, 2020, as a paid holiday, being the polling day for the byelection to the ward No I village panchayat Telaulim in Salcete taluka, to the workers who are entitled to vote at the byelection of the village panchayat, such as Industrial workers, daily wage workers of the Government Departments and State Government Industrial Departments, commercial and industrial workers of private establishment, workers of all private establishments and daily wage/casual workers employed in any business, trade industrial undertakings or any other establishments.
Meanwhile, the Government has directed that all licensed premises ‘for the sale of liquor’ located within the jurisdiction of ward No I of village panchayat Telaulim in Salcete taluka will be closed from 00.00 hrs of January 4, 2020, till midnight of January 6, 2020, being the day of counting of votes in view of the byelection.
However, the licensed premises having a license for ‘Bar and Restaurant’ may be allowed to keep the restaurant open for serving food and the Bar counter will be closed and no liquor will be allowed to be served on the mentioned days. The owners of the licensed premises having ‘Bar and Restaurant’ will also display a board in the premises, stating that no liquor will be served and that the restaurant will be open for serving food only. Meanwhile, the Government has declared that no liquor will be transported from one place to another within the jurisdiction of ward No I of village panchayat Telaulim in Salcete taluka.
Three-quart bottles of Indian made foreign liquor or foreign liquor other than beer and six bottles of beer and six bottles of 650 ml of beer for any person including his family and three-quart bottles of country liquor for any person including his family.
The notification will remain in force only from 00.00 hrs on January 4, 2020, to midnight January 6, 2020, being the day of the counting of votes in view of the
byelection.
