A Kadamba bus facility was launched at village Sal in Bicholim taluka on Wednesday, January 1 at the hands of Bicholim MLA and Speaker Rajesh Patnekar. The facility was started due to efforts of senior citizen centre, Ummid entertainment centre and Sal village panchayat to fulfil the long pending demand of the villagers. Besides Patnekar, Latambarcem ZP member Sanjay Shetye, KTC transport inspector Vishnu Raut, Sal sarpanch Ghanashyam Raut, president of senior citizen mandal Soma Raut, secretary Subhash Salkar, deputy sarpanch Varsha Salkar, panch members Prakash Raut, Bindiya Raut, Vasudev Halarnkar and KTC employees were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the event Patnekar said KTC bus facility was started by former chief minister Pratapsingh Rane at the time when transport problem was very critical in the State and it consequently helped people. He also called upon people to co-operate with KTC. Sal villagers have expressed solidarity towards senior citizen mandal, Ummid centre and Sal panchayat for helping the commuters.
