JCI Salcete observes National Youth Day
PANAJI: The National Youth Day-2016 and the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was observed by JCI Salcete Coastal at Shree Mallikarjun College at Delem, Canacona. Two students - Sunil Gaonkar (SYBA) in sports category and Shubhlaxmi Naik Gaonkar (SYBA) for academics were feted.
The chief guest was Principal Dr Fakruddin Nadaf. Prof Vividh Pawaskar, Elston Fernandes, Kanan Tandi and Shyam Manavat were present.
Dr Nadaf said the youth are the pillars of society and have to be directed in life. He said the philosophy of Swamiji and his ideals could be a great source of inspiration for the youth.
A training programme followed during which Kanan Tandi spoke on 'The Value of First Impression' and Shyam Manavat spoke on 'The Three Factors required to finalise one’s career'
Elston Fernandes was the project coordinator of the National Youth Day.
