Jewellery and cash worth Rs 4 lakh were stolen from a villa at Assagao on Monday.
According to a complaint, a group of five tourists from Mumbai were staying in the villa and the incident took place sometime between 5 am and 5.30 pm, while they were away from the villa.
On their return, the tourists realised that jewellery in their bags and cash were missing.
Since the door of the villa was not broken, the tourists suspected that some employees providing service to the villa may have been involved in the burglary. Anjuna police have registered a complaint of theft, and PI Sahil Warang is investigating the matter.
