PANAJI: The Crime Branch (CB) sleuths have arrested a Karnataka native for allegedly peddling drugs in the Morjim beach belt early Wednesday morning. Superintendent of Police (CB) Nidhin Valsan said the raid outside the main gate of Morjim Khind Park led his team to accused Kishor Chavan.
The 27-year-old, who had checked into a guest house at Morjim, was caught red-handed in possession of “one red colour handbag containing in it a blue colour polythene bag containing greenish colour flowering and fruiting tops of plants suspected to be Ganja”.The contraband, weighing 3.072 kgs and cash of Rs 2,070, all worth Rs 3.15 lakh approx, were seized from his possession. He was subsequently arrested under the NDPS Act and produced before the local court for police remand.
