Jewellery worth Rs 1.95 L burgled from Velsao house

Burglars broke into a house in Pale-Velsao and stole gold and platinum jewellery valued at about Rs 1.95 lakh in the wee hours of Monday.

According to a complaint filed by the homeowner, Pramila Rodrigues, the burglary took place sometime between 2 am and 3:15 am, when burglars gained access to the house by entering through an open gallery on the first floor.

Once inside, they proceeded to the bedroom, where they stole jewellery stored in cupboards and on a bedroom table.

Verna Police have registered an offence against unknown persons under Sections 305 of BNS and PSI Nikhil Desai is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.

The incident has alarmed local residents, as they have raised concerns about safety and security in the area.

Police have appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as they intensify efforts to solve the case and recover the stolen items.
