Insisting that leaders should avoid jumping into different parties, PWD Minister and senior MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar claimed that they have opposed people from moving between different parties since 2000.
Asked for a response to MGP central committee’s decision on Thursday to contest bypolls from Shiroda and Mandre constituencies along the sidelines of a function at Marcaim, Dhavalikar asked media persons if they support such acts.
“You all are educated and know this issue very well. Do you think it is correct to jump from one party to another? Nobody supports such actions. Since 2000 by the way of an advertisement, we have opposed the act of jumping from one party to another. Such acts affects the electorate and hence, it should be stopped,” said Dhavalikar.
Asked if their decision to contest the bypolls would amount to a breach in the alliance dharma, Dhavalikar replied, “We have come together post-elections. We are working under leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for the development of Goa.”
“National political parties tried to finish the MGP, but they were unsuccessful,” said Dhavalikar, but refused to name the political party.
