Junior engineer ends life

MAPUSA
A 30-year-old government servant in power department committed suicide at his residence in Colvale, police informed.

The deceased had left a suicide note.

On getting information, Colvale Police rushed to the spot, conducted the panchanama and sent the body for autopsy. The deceased was identified as Paresh Naik (30) and employed as junior engineer with the power department.

Police sources informed that the deceased was having issues with his health which apparently drove him to take the drastic step.

Following the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family.

Colvale Police are investigating further.

PANAJI After two consecutive days of nil Covid deaths, Goa saw four people die in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 3362. The positivity was recorded as 1.05 per cent as 31 of the 2934 samples tested positive for the virus. There were 59 recoveries and the recovery rate stood at 97.84. The active covid count was 483. The patients discharged from the hospitals were three and new admissions were four.
