KA renovation work launched

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday assured that the basic structure of Kala Academy will not be changed while taking up renovation and strengthening works of the old Kala Academy building.

Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone for strengthening and renovation of Kala Academy Goa, Sawant has said that the government is spending around Rs 49 Crores and the renovation and strengthening of Kala Academy will be completed within 10 months.

CM said that Kala Academy has historic and architectural value and the same will be preserved.

While justifying the Rs49 crores spent for renovation CM said that in the next 10 years the Kala Academy will recover the money spent on renovation of the building adding that the Kala Academy theatres, open air theatres and surrounding area is in demand for commercial programmes.

CM added that PWD architect and consultant will work together for renovation of the Kala Academy building. Govind Gaude said that the renovation of Kala Academy is done to encorage youths to march ahead.
