Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said the Kala Academy premises would be renovated for the International Film festival of India (IFFI) 2019.
Speaking to reporters along the sidelines of a function in Porvorim, Sawant said he had received a report on the structural audit of the Kala Academy.
“We will go through the report and do whatever is best for Kala Academy. Necessary action will be decided by the State cabinet based on the report,” said the chief minister.
“The Kala Academy will be renovated before IFFI as we are planning the renovation to host the IFFI,” the chief minister said.
Sawant also said the State government would submit its Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) by November 30, adding that the NGT would be requested to allow shacks to operate from October 1.
“The tourism season will begin on October 1 and we will request the NGT to allow the shacks to operate. We will submit the CZMP report to the NGT by November 30”, the chief minister said.
