Karwar native killed in road accident

PONDA: A 65-year-old pillion rider from Karwar-Karnataka died, while his son was injured in a hit-and-run case at Dharbandora on Wednesday evening.

Ponda Police informed that Chandrakant Rama Gulekar and his son, Narayan were proceeding towards Ponda on a scooter when they were knocked down by an unidentified vehicle at Sateripuran-Dharbandora.

Police said the scooter rider and Chandrakant's son, Narayan sustained injuries and is undergoing medical treatment in Goa Medical College.

Police said Chandrakant was rushed to Dharbandora Health Center, where he was declared dead on arrival. Ponda Police is investigating the case.
