Thomas also informed media persons that around 95 trawlers along with crew from Kerala were still missing in the deep sea. "There are four stranded Kerala trawlers here at Kharewado. The Dy Collector says he has received only a part request of providing cash, but has not received the notice to provide diesel to the Kerala trawlers. I have just spoken to the chief secretary of Kerala and told him that the dy collector here in Goa had not received both requests made by the Kerala government," said Thomas.
Dy Collector Mahadev Arondekar admitted he had only received the order to provide cash of Rs 2,500 to the crew of the stranded Kerala trawlers, however no order to supply 750 litres of Diesel was received by him.
"They say they have released both orders, but I have only received the order to provide Rs 2,500 cash to each crew member. I have also spoken to our chief secretary. Once he receives the order, he will direct the collectors of north and south and I will be informed accordingly. We can then can go ahead and implement both directions," said Arondekar.
