Kerala native held for drugs worth Rs14 lakh at Mandrem

A 29-year-old man from Kerala has been arrested by police on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 14 lakh at Mandrem.

According to North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal, Mandrem Police received a tip off regarding one suspect coming to sell drugs including charas and LSD Papers at Mandrem on Tuesday.

Accordingly, a raiding team was formed under the supervision of SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi and PI Mandrem Sheriff Jacques.

As the person came at the spot, he was apprehended and search was conducted, during which he was found in possession of 2.63 grams of Charas and 123 LSD Papers, all valued at Rs 14.36 lakh.

The accused has been identified as Muhammed Nihal, a native of Thalaseery in Kunnur-Kerala., but presently residing at Mandrem. An FIR under Sections 20(b)(ii)(A) and 22 (c) of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.

This is the second big raid conducted by Mandrem Police within a span of three days, and further investigation is in progress.
