Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday lashed out at the Congress for questioning Union Minister of State and BJP’s North Goa candidate Shripad Naik’s contributions to the district, citing AYUSH Hospitals and the Water Sports Institute project during his tenure in respective portfolios.
Addressing a gathering at Shri Mahalaxmi Temple premises, Sawant stated that during Naik’s tenure as the AYUSH Minister, the Central government approved two AYUSH hospitals for Goa. Likewise, the National Institute of Watersports in Goa was also approved when he held the charge as Minister of State for Tourism. “Various projects across village panchayats have come up wherein Bhau (Naik) spent crores of rupees (through MPLAD funds) over his 25-year tenure,” Sawant said.
