Khaunte said that they (his agents) were doing their legitimate duty of trying to bring to the notice of election officials certain discrepancies.
“It seems that they have some instruction from the BJP office to provoke us and create a scene.
They tried to intimidate us and got aggressive,”
Rohan Khaunte told media persons on Monday outside the office of the Director General of Police (DGP) soon after he lodged a complaint against the officials.
Khaunte alleged that his agent was approached threateningly and intimidated in a bid to provoke him.
According to Rohan, his agent noticed a mismatch between the serial number of the ballot unit and the one that was listed which was a serious discrepancy.
“It is the legitimate right of my polling agent to even go in the strong room and check that the EVMs are being stored properly.”
“If the police want to be agents of the BJP they should join the BJP’s office staff,” Khaunte said.
