Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte continued to push his workation concept to drive Goa as a destination saying at an Information and Communications Technology summit on Friday that the State government has come up with this idea of co-working spaces on beaches.
“The State government has come up with a concept of co-working spaces on the beaches in Goa and is going to promote the culture of #WorkationGoa," Khaunte said at the ICT4SD summit.
People can work, go and surf on the beach and come back and resume work through these co-working spaces on beaches, he said, adding that Morjim and Miramar beaches in North Goa and Benaulim in South Goa have been picked to set up these co-working spaces in the initial phase.
Meanwhile, Goa’s Umang Software received the ‘Global Growth of the Year' award for its sustainable growth in software exports at the Summit.
Khaunte inaugurated the international summit organised by the Knowledge Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the Global Knowledge Research Foundation.
During the summit, KCCI signed MOUs with some global and local chambers and associations including the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Goa Technology Association, Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration and Forum for Innovation Incubation Research Entrepreneurship, International Law Association and G2G Technologies Private Limited.
Three different parallel sessions on ICT Transformation, Esports and Gaming and also International Business Law were held at the summit and curated by subject experts.
More than 1,000 research papers from across the globe were received out of which 225 have been selected to be presented at the summit in both physical and digital formats.
