Khaunte says BJP stalled Porvorim's progress

PORVORIM: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has accused the Porvorim BJP Mandal of creating obstacles in the completion of various projects in Porvorim constituency.

“If the Porvorim BJP Mandal had not created obstacles, all projects would have been completed by now,” said Khaunte, while speaking at a public meeting at Britona.

Khaunte admitted having initially supported the BJP government on assuming that it would honour its assurances to the electorate, but added that the BJP did not fulfill its commitments on regional plan, casinos, MoI and special status.

“Corruption is rampant in the BJP government and without bribing, no work can be done. One can’t get a job on merit. Instead of ‘Sab Ka Sath Sabka Vikas,’ the BJP adopted the slogan of ‘Sabka Sath Khudka Vikas,’” alleged Khaunte.

Goa Forward Party (GFP) spokesperson Prashant Naik said BJP had taken 'U turns' on major issues like casinos Regional Plan and creating 50,000 jobs.

GFP general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar, Britona Villagers Front president Agnel Pereira, ZP members Gupesh Naik, Vaishali Satardekar and Bhiku Sawant also spoke.
