FIR filed against Kejriwal for poll code violation

An FIR was lodged against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly violating the model code of conduct for asking voters to accept cash from opposition candidates at a public meeting in Mapusa, police said.

MAPUSA The Returning Officer (RO), Mapusa, Gurudas Desai in his complaint said Arvind Kejriwal, the star campaigner of AAP, was addressing a public meeting at Mapusa taxi-stand on January 8. “In the meeting, Kejriwal publicly appealed to the voters to accept cash from other political parties and opposition candidates but to vote for AAP on February 4 assembly election in the State and thereby violated the model code of conduct,” the RO said in his complaint.
