Master composer and King of Konkani albums Edwin D’Costa was on Sunday honoured at the hands of former PWD Minister Churchill Alemao at the Gomant Vidya Niketan hall, Margao.
After honouring Edwin with a crown, a shawl and trophy in the presence of Tiatr Director and Tiatr Academy of Goa, Menino de Bandar and social worker Anthony Barbosa, Churchill said that Edwin deserves the title of being the King of Konkani albums as he has produced 100 albums in a short span of time.
“Edwin is the fastest composer of Konkani songs. God has given him this beautiful gift. He has earned a name not only in Goa, but in the Gulf as well,” Churchill said.
In his reply, Edwin expressed his happiness that he was able to bring out his 100 Konkani album. He thanked Churchill and Anthony Barbosa for supporting him in his endeavour.
“Churchill has helped me to bring out the albums over the years. I am indebted to him for giving me the encouragement to bring out the albums,” Edwin added.
