Mahendra Ekavde has been elected unopposed as sarpanch of Kudnem in Sankhali constituency.
Ekavde was the only panch to file his nomination at a special meeting and he was elected unopposed. Panch members Vanshika Malik, Suresh Kamat, Nandini Falkar, Jayram Malik and Rajan Falkar were present at the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Ekavde promised to work hard and bring a change in the village with the help of the chief minister and authorities.
Later, Chief Minister and local MLA Pramod Sawant greeted the new sarpanch and assured all support towards the all-round development of the village.
Sawant advised the panchayat body to promote Atmnirbhar Bharat and Swayanpurna Goa to achieve progress in the village.
