The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has nabbed a 22-year old native of Shimoga-Karnataka, who was found in possession of 11 stolen mobiles, valued over Rs 2 lakh.
DySP Konkan Railway Police Station, Gurudas Kadam has said that stolen mobiles have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Since the accused along with his accomplice had committed the thefts in the jurisdiction of Verna police station, the accused was handed over to the Verna police for further investigations. DySP Kadam said the accused along with his accomplice had gone to Vasco and is alleged to have committed theft of mobile phones from the houses at Birla, Zuari Nagar.
The accused was nabbed when he was about to leave the State by a train at the Margao railway station. Upon seeing the police team moving at the railway station, the accused tried to make good his escape, but was overpowered and nabbed. His accomplice, however, has managed to escape. The police is investigating.
