Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will attend the Goa Rakhon Yatra at Zuarinagar, GPCC Youth Congress president Archit Naik announced on Sunday.
Naik made the announcement during a Youth Congress induction programme at the cyclone shelter home in Zuarinagar. He said Shivakumar’s participation would give further momentum to Congress activities in the area and energise party workers ahead of the elections.
Naik, along with Cortalim Congress leader Mariano Rodrigues, inducted new members into the committee as the Youth Congress sought to strengthen its grassroots organisation in Cortalim and surrounding areas.
The Congress leaders also attacked the BJP, alleging that the ruling party was feeling threatened by Congress’ growing presence and had resorted to tearing down Congress posters.
They claimed the BJP’s strength would fall to single digits in the coming elections, saying the alleged removal of Congress posters reflected nervousness within the ruling party.
