A quarrel between two labourers came to violent end when one labourer allegedly stabbed the other near the Pundalik Devastan at Porvorim on Sunday night.
Ramappa Kavalur filed a complaint at the Porvorim police station stating that 10 labourers were staying together in a hut near Pundalik Devastan.
On Sunday, there was quarrel between two labourers, Ramanna Baddi (52) and Basappa Hansikutti (49) on a petty matter. In the heated argument, Baddi allegedly killed Hansikutti.
On receiving information of the murder at around 9 pm, Porvorim Police rushed to the spot and shifted Hansikutti, who was lying in a pool of blood, to the Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim, where he was declared dead by doctors on duty.
Police arrested the accused under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code. He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class on Monday and remanded to seven days in police custody for investigation. Police Inspector Viswesh Karpe is investigating the case.
