Labourer severely beaten by truck-driver at Karaswada
A worker, Manjunath Karbhari (25) who was engaged in the work of laying water pipeline at Karaswada was on Tuesday severely beaten by the contractor's truck driver. The incident occurred at a site near Vrindavan hospital in Mapusa where the work of laying water pipelines is currently underway. A group of 5-6 workers was engaged in the work when suddenly the said driver began beating Manjunath. The worker sustained injuries to head and face and was rescued by the local people. He was later admitted to district
hospital. Mapusa Police are conducting further investigations in the issue.

VALPOI The Gou Parivar Shimoga-Karnataka coordinator Girish Hegde successfully performed surgery on two cattle, who had consumed plastic wastage, at Valpoi.
