Lamp explodes at Anjuna
MAPUSA: A lamp kept for charging exploded and caused a minor fire in a house in Anjuna, causing damages of about Rs 25,000 on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred in the house of Amar Othaunekar near the Tembi football ground in Anjuna.
According to fire officials, a lamp kept for charging on a table apparently burst due to overheating and the resultant fire burnt two mobile phones, three wrist watches and a torch which were also on the table.
“The incident created more smoke than fire in the house which was quickly brought under control by the firemen,” an official of the Mapusa Fire Station informed.
Total damages were estimated at around Rs 25,000.
