Leading Hotels files case of trespass against GF members

Leading Hotels Ltd, the promoters of the golf course and villa project in Tiracol has filed a case of trespass against Goa Foundation’s (GF) Claude and Norma Alvares alleging that they entered their property and deliberately hid their identities to security personnel when questioned.

The case, filed at the Pernem police station has alleged that the activist duo was noticed by security personnel during a routine patrolling and when questioned claimed to be Anthony Fernandes and Judy Fernandes, tourists from Andheri, Mumbai who were staying at Fort Tiracol and that they lost their way during a morning walk. “As per standard procedure project assistant Santosh Rane photographed the trespassers and politely requested not to trespass any further and as a measure of courtesy were guided out of the site back towards Fort Tiracol,” a complaint filed by P Ravi of the company said.
He said the couple “resisted and intended to proceed further into the property and subsequently instigate the villagers.” It was only when the photographs were shown to project administrators that they identified them as Claude and Norma Alvares who have filed a petition along with some villagers against Leading Hotels.
