PONDA
On Sunday morning, heavy rains triggered a landslide on the national highway at Kone-Priol, causing a three-hour blockage of traffic from Ponda to Mardol. Two houses near the panchayat office in Mardol suffered damage due to overflowing drain water, and another landslide occurred on the Mhalshi-Kurti road.
Upon receiving reports of the landslide, traffic police managed traffic near Goa College of Engineering in Farmagudi. Normal traffic resumed after about three hours.
At 10 am, another landslide occurred on the service road in Mhalshi-Kurti, prompting traffic police to clear the debris with JCB machinery to restore vehicular movement. In Keri-Khandepar, flooding from an overflowing Nallah obstructed traffic from Ponda to Khandepar.
Near the panchayat office in Mardol, water entered houses belonging to Gurudas Mhardolkar and Shyamkant Akarkar, causing significant losses by the afternoon.
