The ACB had registered an offence in 2014 against an unknown lady staff of the office of the Assistant Director of Transport in Mapusa for demanding a bribe to issue an NOC for transferring a vehicle.
They in turn had laid a trap where the lady official, Meena Tuyekar, LDC of the Mapusa office, was caught red handed after she demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 300 from the complainant, Ankit Salgaonkar.
On completion of the investigation and on receipt of the reports from CFSL Hyderabad and Chandigarh, sanction for prosecution of Tuyekar was obtained from the competent authority.
The chargesheet in the case was filed on Tuesday in the Court of District and Sessions Court, North, at Panaji and the accused was produced along with the chargesheet is released by the court on furnishing personal bond of Rs 25,000 with one surety.
