Barely days after a leopard was found dead after being caught in a trap at Kopardem-Sattari, another leopard has reportedly caused terror in the locality.
According to locals, the leopard has killed two dogs in the last two days and there are growing fears that the leopard could attack people in the area.
They have requested the Forest Department to set up a cage to trap the leopard roaming in and around Kopardem.
When contacted, forest officer Shamsundar Gawas said the department has received complaints from people in this regard.
“A survey is in progress and if necessary, efforts will be made to capture the leopard roaming in this area,” Gawas said.
A few days ago, a leopard was killed after it was caught in a trap at Koparde-Sattari. A forest team conducted investigations and also began a search for similar traps in the village. Some traps were found in different locations and they were removed.
