Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF), a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Lupin Limited, Verna was awarded for being the Role Model in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility in Goa.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant handed the award to Site Head of Lupin Limited Verna, Srinivas Rao Kalakuntla and CSR head Francis Fernandes at a Goa Liberation Day function, Goa University Helipad ground.
LHWRF was awarded for being the Role Model in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility with a proactive approach to implement the Rural Holistic approach in Pernem and Bicholim block, and other all-round activities all over Goa. Their work in sectors of Agriculture, Organic Farming, Women Empowerment, and Education was commended.
LHWRF was founded by Dr Desh Bandhu Gupta, the founder of Lupin Limited in 1988. The foundation is committed to building sustainable livelihood opportunities and triggering economic growth in some of India’s most backward and underdeveloped districts.
Over the years, the foundation has outreached over 5000 villages from 9 states, 23 districts, and 84 blocks in India. 183 villages were directly covered through its holistic development efforts this year.
